Chappell warns Aussies of being more cautious about Bangladesh tour
Former Australia skipper Ian Chappell has labeled the upcoming two match Test series against Bangladesh as a "difficult tour" for the Aussies.
Chappell acknowledged Bangladesh's improvement in cricket's longest format in the recent times by saying Bangladesh have "really improved".
Chappell, who has many times questioned Bangladesh's Test status, is now viewing Bangladesh as a serious threat. "This will be a difficult tour," Chappell said. "It'll be hard and I don't think they believe it will be anything but hard. Not so much because of the pay dispute, it'll be hard because the conditions there are difficult and in the last 12-18 months Bangladesh have really improved."
In the last Test series at home against England, Tigers pulled off their maiden Test victory over the English Lions. The victory over England is serving as a warning for the Aussies, as they now know, that Bangladesh has the ability to beat top sides in the longest format of the game.
Courtois, Morata prove fall guys as Arsenal win Community Shield
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and star signing Alvaro Morata were the Chelsea fall guys as Arsenal won the Community Shield 4-1 on penalties at Wembley on Sunday. Goals from Chelsea's Victor Moses and Arsenal new boy Sead Kolasinac sent the game to a shootout and with both Courtois and Morata limply squandering their spot-kicks, Arsenal won the trophy for the third time in four years.
Courtois blazed his penalty over the bar before substitute Morata, a 58 million pounds (75.6 million; 64.2 million euros) capture from Real Madrid, shot wide, allowing Olivier Giroud to seal victory for Arsenal. Arsenal, embarking upon their first season without Champions League football since 1997, have won on their last nine visits to Wembley, a run stretching back to a victory over Wigan Athletic in the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 2014.
Advertisement Arsene Wenger's side open the Premier League season at home to 2016 champions Leicester City on Friday, with Antonio Conte's Chelsea beginning their title defence at home to Burnley the following day. Moses, sent off after receiving a second yellow card for diving as Arsenal stunned Chelsea 2-1 in May's FA Cup final, partially atoned by putting the champions ahead early in the second half. But after Pedro had been shown a straight red card for an ugly challenge on Mohamed Elneny, Kolasinac headed in an 81st-minute equaliser to leave the game 1-1 at full-time. As in the cup final, Arsenal made the more assured start and came within inches of opening the scoring when new signing Alexandre Lacazette curled a shot against the post after a slick counter-attack.
Per Mertesacker was one of the heroes of Arsenal's FA Cup win, expertly marshalling a badly depleted defence, but the club captain was to last just 27 minutes of the teams' reunion. The giant German centre-back.
had to go off after a collision with Gary Cahill's elbow left blood streaming down his face, giving Bosnian defender Kolasinac an opportunity to make his official debut.
As Arsenal reorganised, Chelsea began to assert themselves, Moses and Pedro working Petr Cech before Willian was harshly booked for diving after his left foot was clipped by Hector Bellerin's knee inside the box.
Neat footwork set Alex Iwobi up to curl a shot at Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois late in the first half, but within a minute of kick-off in the second half, Arsenal found themselves behind.
Granit Xhaka's attempt to clear Willian's corner sent the ball high into the air and when Cahill headed it back into the danger area, Moses darted in behind Rob Holding to apply an emphatic finish.
Elneny squandered a presentable chance for Arsenal by slicing wide and then sent Courtois scrambling with a mishit cross from wide on the right.
Wenger threw on Giroud and Theo Walcott for Lacazette and Iwobi and saw Xhaka extend Courtois with a 30-yard effort.
Pedro's dismissal for catching Elneny's left Achilles with his studs tipped the momentum in Arsenal's favour and they equalised when Xhaka's cross from the ensuing free-kick was headed in by Kolasinac.

Nike unveils sport hijab for Muslim athletes
The Nike Pro Hijab has been in development for a year, the company said.
Athletes contributed input into the product, and figure skater Zahra Lari was
among those who tested it. The pull-on hijab is made of light, stretchy fabric
that includes tiny holes for breath ability and an elongated back so it will not
come untucked. It will come in three colors: black, vast grey and obsidian.
Beaverton-based Nike says the hijab will be available for sale next year.
Lari, a hopeful for the Winter Olympics next year in Pyeongchang , South Korea ,
posted photos of herself wearing the hijab on her Instagram page. Lari is from Abu Dhabi and represents the United Arab Emirates . "Can't
believe this is finally here!!" she wrote. Last summer, fencer Ibtihaj
Muhammad of New York became the first Muslim
American woman to compete for the United States wearing a hijab at
the Olympics. She earned a bronze medal at the Rio Games.
The U-17 Women's World Cup last October in Jordan marked the first-time Muslim
players wore headscarves during a FIFA event. Soccer's international governing
body formally lifted a ban on head coverings in 2014, recognizing Muslim and
Sikh players.
Meanwhile, the governing body for basketball, FIBA, has come under fire for
banning headscarves during international competition.
Kangana remembers that KJo once mocked her English
Actress Kangana Ranaut was one of Karan Johar’s guests on the Koffee With Karan episode which aired on television on Sunday night.
Apart from making explosive remarks in general, Kangana left no opportunity to take digs at the show host. Mid-way through the show, she declared Karan has “verbal diarrhea.” Very politely, Kangana referred to Karan as an example of nepotism in Bollywood. Kangana, who continued to deadpan, also confessed that Karan has been the “driving force” in her life. Kangana’s brutally-honest statements made for some really strong koffee, which Karan Johar surely was not expecting. Kangana was also announced the winner of the Rapid Fire Round, which Kangana jokingly said is perhaps Karan’s attempt to “redeem” himself. Kangana was accompanied by her Rangoon co-star Saif Ali Khanon the koffee couch.
Beginning of the show, Karan introduced Kangana as a two-time National Award winner and said that he’s a fan of Kangana’s performance, especially after watching Queen and Tanu Weds Manu. Previously, Karan said that he thought, “Nothing would happen to her.” Kangana, who simply could not hold herself with a simple ‘Thank you,’ added: “I’m so happy to hear this from you as well because you’ve been the driving force in my life.
If it wasn’t for your rejections and mocking and all those… of course you made fun of my English on this and you made fun of everything. I’m not complaining about it. I’m just saying. Somewhere these things do drive you.” Karan introduced his show as “unapologetically frivolous” when Kangana said: “No, me and Saif are going to give it some dignity. Saif is the real nawab and I’m the filmy queen. So, we need to make sense of the show.
We need to do that.” Karan’s comeback was: “The person who is helming the show doesn’t want to make any sense of the show. So, I don’t know how much you’ll manage.” Alia Bhatt, who also has appeared on Karan’s show, had once told him: “I love Kangana’s airport look but I don’t know where she is going.” As Saif rolled his eyes, Kangana explained that Alia’s response was to the question ” ‘Who would you like to stalk?’ Karan is putting words in her mouth! And now Saif, you’re putting words in my mouth to say something.” In his recently released autobiography titled ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, Karan wrote that Kangana “made a branding out of her absence. People have a magnificent presence; she has a magnificent.
